The hodgsonConsulting (Hodgson) website was suffering the same trials we hear about from nearly all of our clients: the site wasn't responsive, content couldn't be updated quickly and painlessly, and the user experience was outdated. We realized we needed take a step back and help ourselves in the same manner we help our clients.

The Solution

We dedicated a team and proceeded through the same five-phase project approach we use for all our clients: the Definitions phase, in which we examined our content, identified the most highly trafficked areas of the site, and determined how we wanted the visual elements, usability, content, accessibility, SEO strategy and user types incorporated into the new design. We created an information architecture and navigation system and identified Sitefinity as the CMS which would fit our needs most effectively.

The project then moved into a Design phase, during which our talented designers developed wireframes and created  three user experience mockups for design approval. During the Development phase, our developers built out the responsive HTML/CSS templates and implemented them into Sitefinity. We integrated all necessary third-party systems during the Integration phase, and finally entered the Operations phase. We were trained on Sitefinity so our content editors could easily enter content, and ensured the website met 508 and ADA requirements. Having set up specific goals and metrics, we monitored the traffic to confirm we would get the results we wanted and have since seen a rise across all the goals and metrics we set for ourselves.
